Bloom Recipe

“Here is my Shelee Art Bloom Recipe for USA Artists.”

by Patty Puckett

Base Pillow

90%  Color Place Satin Enamel White (Walmart)

10%  Golden Gac 800 – To help with cracking.

Medium to Mix with Colors

50% Behr High gloss Deep base enamel. Not colored

25%  Minwax Polycrylic

25% Jo Sonja Varnish

To that mix I added some Creative Inspirations Gloss Varnish. You can use any gloss polyurethane that is water-based.  Try the Triple Thick.    6 part Behr and Poly to 1 part varnish.

Cell Activator

Make this a little thinner than the pillow or paints.

3 Teaspoons Floetrol (USA)

1 Teaspoon Amsterdam Titanium White

4 drops Minwax Wood Conditioner

4 drops Liquitex Acrylic Ink

1/2 Teaspoon Elmers Glue-All

I use at least one transparent color in my blooms. You can change the cell activator color.  I hear black Oxide or Carbon Black works (I haven’t tried yet).

Paints

Art Minds Candy Apple, Art Minds Brushed Metallics Aqua Marine, Deco Art Extreme Sheen Deep Sapphire mixed with Creative Inspirations Phthalo Blue and a pinch of Artist Loft Irridecent Medium, Folk Art Metallics Amethyst.

Instructions

Put on top the Cell Activator.  Blow straight down to spread over the colors.  Then blow lightly to spread over the colors  all around.  Let the middle come back level then tilt slowly.  Pop any air bubbles as you go.
